Services

DAILY DOG RUNS

My services provide far more than just a "bathroom break." Dogs simply LOVE to play - and they get healthier, happier, and calmer from doing so...

At the same time each day - or just as close to it as traffic and weather will allow - Rachel and I will pick up your dog (along with two or three of his neighborhood friends) for some fun and adventure. With as much variety as I can provide, we'll take them somewhere to walk (and run, and frolic) off - leash. Dogs always love a ride in the car - but the REAL fun begins when we arrive...

In cooler and cold weather, I'll  bring along a "chuckit" and a ball or two, or a frisbee... in the hot Summer months, I'll bring water and a bowl... but mostly, what I provide is leadership, enthusiasm... and a pocketful of plastic bags. The dogs are the ones who bring the agenda.

Some will run and jump and rumble joyfully.  Some will chase each other wildly in a wacky game of "tag." Some are happy to simply poke along, enjoying the day and smelling.... er, the roses. They ALL do their "business"....

Then, when all are tired (and "empty"}, it's back to the car for the drive home, where I'll make sure each dog has clean, fresh water - and, with permission, a treat. Then they'll settle in to wait for you....
You'll come home to a happy dog!

HOUSESITTING and BOARDING

Note: these services are only available to my regular dogwalking clients.

Probably the toughest dilemma facing any dog owner is: What do I do with my best friend while I'm away?
Dogs suffer just as intensely from anxiety as people do. Three strong causes of doggie anxiety are:

  • Being excluded from their "pack."
  • A sudden change in environment.
  • A sudden change in routine.

HOUSESITTING is without exception the best solution to a dog owner's travel dilemma. For the same price as a quality kennel (where your dog will be a stranger), Rachel and I will come and stay with your buddy in his own home and familiar surroundings. His environment and routine will be consistent and unchanged, and he'll have the comfort of known friends for company. There are added bonuses for you - mail will be brought in, lights turned on and off, etc. - it's a genuine "win- win" situation, and always produces happy results.

For those who are uncomfortable with a housesitter, BOARDING becomes the only option. My home is not a kennel - I have no crates or cages - however, with certain caveats, I'm happy to board my clients' dogs.

ELIGIBILITY

Your dogs' eligibility depends on three things:

  • LOCATION - You must live in (or very close to) one of the neighborhoods I service - Islington village, Baby Point, The Kingsway/Humbercrest, Riverside, Sunnylea/Swansea, and Bloor West Village. If in doubt - call me and let's talk.
  • AVAILABILITY - I only do a few runs each day, and I keep each one small. If I'm full up... well, I'm full up.
  • YOUR DOG - The most important aspect of all! Before I take on any new dog, Rachel and I will come to your home to meet you both. It's not snobbery - I've never met a dog I didn't like - it's simply that some dogs aren't suitable for group play and activity. I'll need to meet him first to know...
